GAIL gets SCOPE Meritorious Award
New Delhi, April 10th 2010: Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, H.E President of India presented SCOPE Meritorious Award to GAIL (India) Limited for Corporate Governance for the year 2007-08. Shri B C Tripathi, Chairman and Managing Director, GAIL (India) Limited received the award at Vigyan Bawan, New Delhi today.
The award has been given to GAIL in recognition for its continuous endeavours to improve performance by adopting innovative approaches for transparent and merit based management, ensuring fairness in all transactions with investors, customers, employees, partners, competitors and the society at large.
GAIL (India) Limited is India’s flagship Natural Gas company, integrated across the Natural Gas value chain including Exploration & Production, Processing, Transmission, Distribution and Marketing and its related services. GAIL (India) Limited has set a target of transmitting 114.8 MMSCMD of natural gas from domestic sources and through LNG route during FY 2010-11 under the Annual Memorandum of Understanding signed with Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for performance targets for the Financial Year 2010-11. During the FY 2010-11, to achieve the Excellence in performance, the Company has targeted the Gas Marketing of around 87 MMSCMD. The MoU also provides for an 'Excellent' production target of 420 TMT of Polymers (HDPE & LLDPE) and 1,288 TMT of Liquid Hydrocarbons. GAIL owns and operates over 7200 km. of natural gas transmission network with the transportation capacity of 148 MMSCMD in the country. GAIL is laying 5 new pipelines and augmenting capacity of 3 existing pipelines at an estimated investment of Rs 20,000 crore, which would result in a pipeline network of 12,000 km by 2011-12 and a transmission capacity of 300 MMSCMD.
