Mr. A.P.Choudhary, ED, SAIL, is new Director (Projects), RINL



New Delhi: Mr. A.P. Chaudhary, Executive Director, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), has assumed charge as Director (Projects), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL), a leading steel maker of the country.

An outstanding student, Mr. Choudhary joined SAIL's Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) in 1978. He worked in RSP's Projects and Maintenance departments and was actively associated with the modernisation of the plant in the early 1990s. Since his posting to SAIL Corporate Office in 1997, Mr. Chaudhary has played a key role in steering the strategic direction of the company during his tenures in Chairman’s Secretariat and Projects Directorate. He has been actively associated with SAIL's mega modernisation & expansion plan for almost doubling production capacity which is currently at various stages of implementation. 

Well known in the steel industry for his multi-tasking skills and down-to-earth outlook, Mr. Chaudhary has earlier made significant contributions in the financial and business restructuring of SAIL for its turnaround, championing the cost reduction exercise across the company. His holistic experience includes coordinating a gamut of areas like marketing, finance, project, plant operations, etc.

Mr. Chaudhary secured 1st rank with first class distinction in B.Sc. Engineering (Mechanical) at MIT, Muzaffarpur, Bihar. He did Master of Engineering (Design) from Regional Engineering College, Rourkela.
