Reaction of Mr Pawan K Ruia, Chairman: Ruia Group, on the Rail Budget 2012-13:
“Mr Trivedi has indeed presented a vision in his budget. He has thoughtfully reflected on improved infrastructure for the Railways to carry more passengers and more freight in a safer and faster way. Independent Tariff Authority and a dedicated Railways designing wing of NID are also needs of the hour. But I wish he had elaborated about the target and policies on purchase of coaches and wagons. There is a huge scope of better utilisation of the capacities in coach and wagon manufacturing in the country and those companies are certainly missing his pronouncements on such issues.“
